Hey, it's Ranger Rhonda, say hi to Ranger Rhonda and her dog, everyone. Actually, I don't think she's a Ranger; she works at the Forest Service workstation in Stoneyford. Her husband David is a botanist with the Corning office. Rhonda took pity on me when I turned up on the office doorstep getting out of the rain to fix a flat. She took me home and fed me huge bowls of crock-pot-cooked venison stew while David enhanced my fresh-bought Mendo Forest Map by highlighting the good fishing spots and shortcuts and the places to watch out for clay soil and the like. I got an actual hot shower and slept in an actual sofabad, too. Ah, bliss. |
